"I bought this bag years ago and found it to be worth every penny. The pockets and durability are the best. However, I agree with the comments regarding the short hand straps. My solution was to shorten the shoulder strap a great deal. It’s too awkward to use with the strap being long."

Very happy with purchase, I added shoulder straps

"I would give the Legacy Collection Puddle Jumper 2 Duffel Bag five stars, if the handle straps were long enough to wear over the shoulder. I purchased this in black. It is really hard to find a bag of these dimensions, that has excellent interior and exterior pockets/organization, and an interior fabric that is not black (black fabric makes it so much harder to find anything). I liked this bag so much that I spent an additional $60 taking it to a local shop that repairs camping gear to have them remove the original handle straps and install longer straps so that I can wear this over my shoulder. This bag comes with a crossbody strap, which I use also, but still, often I sling stuff over my shoulder. You could take this bag to any shoe repair shop, or leather repair shop, and probably they would be able to add overshoulder straps. If you do that, I suggest that you use stiff-ish leather, so that the straps are not floppy. My new shoulder straps are sturdy nylon, but they are floppy which makes them a bit harder to grab. Anyway, with this alteration, I am very very happy with this duffel! Plenty of room for my fleece sweatpants, a packable nylon jacket, water bottle, shoes and more. Wonderful small- and mid-size pockets on the exterior that make grabbing medium and small items easy and fast - my phone, hair clips, lip balm, plastic barcode card for checking in at my gym, energy bar. Inside, more pockets keep my handtowel, sunscreen, and toiletries tidy, handy and visible. I use this bag 3 times each week for going to the gym and I love it. I look forward to using it for travel. If it is offered in another color that I happen to like, I might very well buy it again and add shoulder straps made of leather. If they offer this again with shoulder straps already included, I will definitely get it! The original handle straps were made of a sturdy, stiff-ish, quilted material that was nice and it was regrettable I wasn't able to re-use when making shoulder straps. I highly recommend this bag if you need a medium-sized gym bag with a lot of functionality and style."

"Only one thing I’d change on this bag, the tote straps. If they were long enough to carry this bag on your shoulder without using the crossbody strap, then this would be the perfect bag."

After reading rave reviews, it just isn't for me

"It is bulky and not as organized and useful as I had hoped. I'm a huge Puddle Jumper original and backpack fan, so thought that this would be another favorite but I returned it. The pockets and flaps were quite crooked and the whole bag just looked like a squished mess."
