Ami x Care Bears™ Story

For our co-founder Ami Richter, Care Bears™ have always been more than a childhood memory; they’re a lifelong love. Over the years, she’s built a colorful collection, traveling with her favorite bears and treasuring the thoughtful Care Bear™ gifts her friends continue to surprise her with. Her husband and co-founder, Jason, is also always on the lookout for new accessories to add to her growing collection. Rumor has it that Jason actually gifted Ami a Care Bear™ on one of their first dates, and that Ami then knew he could be the one. Surrounded by this joy, the Care Bears™ x Lug Collection became a true labor of love.

For Ami, these bears are a reminder of optimism, warmth, and the simple magic of believing in good things to come. That same spirit is woven into Lug’s DNA and continues to inspire our tagline: Live Life in Color.


When the opportunity came to partner with Care Bears™, it felt like everything had come full circle. This collaboration isn’t just about nostalgia;  it’s about bringing an iconic brand of kindness and cheer into the Lug world. Securing the license gave us the chance to design pieces that blend the playful heart of Care Bears™ with Lug’s signature focus on color, function, and everyday joy.

That’s why we brought back beloved silhouettes like the Skeeter Mini, a fan favorite known for being compact yet full of organization, now reimagined with Care Bears™ details. We also expanded the lineup with thoughtful everyday essentials like storage cubes, a toiletry bag, and even a playful coin pouch; each piece designed to sprinkle a little color and cheer into your routine.
